About me

Welcome to my blog about medical simulation and patient safety.  Trained as anesthesiologist,  I am currently doing patient safety and healthcare delivery research at Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary  Simulation Center.  I am also member of Multidisciplinary Epidemiology and Translational Research in Intensive Care (METRIC)  and  Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery, the Health Care Systems Engineering Program.  With collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers and engineers, my research interest is using simulation technology to study the healthcare delivery factors to improve patient safety. The three main themes are: 1) Using systems engineering/operation research approach (modeling and simulation)  to study and improve healthcare delivery system (of systems) performance. 2) study the effectiveness of simulation based medical education (SBME) 3) Using simulation as a tool to conduct usability testing for human factor research.
